S&W Customer Service

Well, I've never had a new S&W before but, just bought a new SD9 and had a small issue with the rear sight. I used the S&W Customer Service online chat thing and...was great, they're sending me the part I need. Was fast, polite, professional, outcome was much better than I expected.
So, alot of times I'm complaining about horrible customer service here or there (like the 8 week wait at Taurus for my daughters gun) but, I gotta say, S&W impressed me today.

I can vouch for the exact same thing. I bought a gen 1 shield last August that had a major issue with the magazine catch spring. They responded quickly, sent me a package slip, I sent them my gun, and in just a few short weeks I got it back and the problem was fixed! And they touched up a lot more than just my spring, they upgraded a lot of other parts while they had it! Their customer service alone solidified my love for the company.

Sent my Model 41 back to S&W 3 times for a stovepiping issue. They paid for shipping and returned the gun in a timely manner each time. The customer service was great. They told me the gun was fixed each time...

So I found the problem and fixed it myself.

Smith has the best service I have experienced. Ship Fed Ex both ways on their dime, no questions asked, handled by email. One week turnaround. Ruger makes you call them first. Springfield also excellent

By brother had to send his SW1911 back to S&W three times. They never could get the pistol cycling correctly, but at least they were courteous and fast.

Come to think of it, they didn’t fix my Bodyguard .380 either, but they are fast and free.

In my experience, manufacturers have difficulty fixing feed and cycling issues. Kahr and Ruger also. They can’t take the time to experiment with ammo, etc.

Unless it’s something obvious, like a broken part, or unless your gun has an issue they’ve already identified as a problem, it might take multiple trips.
