S/W Chiefs Special .45 auto

Rogue Spear

I was wondering if anybody has any info on this particular handgun? Reliability? Weight? and accuracy? Price is a factor because Ive seen them for 475$ cheaper than most .45's except maybe the Ruger.

I really like my CS9. I've had it for about 9 months and I've put nearly 1000 rds. through it without any problems. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

I've fired one, and found it fairly easy to shoot as well as reasonably accurate. My only real complaint is that only 1/2 of my baby finger would fit on the grip. With a mag extension for the little finger, I'd like it much better.

Also: The trigger could have used a bit of work... Pretty rough, but predictable.

I'm normally have a high opinion of S&W pistols (see some of my other posts) and I never actually fired the .45 Chiefs Special but I did look at the .40 version and I didn't like it too much -- I ended up getting the compact tactical model instead (4013TSW) because it seemed to handle a whole lot better. Of course, it was nearly 50% more expensive as well. Just my $0.02 worth.

I don't own one but I looked at one in the gun shop. For me it was very uncomfortable, I have fairly large hands, and also I didn't like the way it rattles just seems like it's way too loose to be very accurate.
