S&W Bodyguard --- show & tell.

This is the first handgun I wanted to get and I still don't have it!In .357/Stainless, it's starting to become irresistable.

Please show & tell if you've got one or had one!

The 649 is pretty neat. I have a 3" J-frame .357 (the 60-15 - I like the longer tube to let the maggie rounds stretch their legs a bit more), and think it's a very handy piece.

A fellow over on the S&W Forums' revolver forum posted a nice photo of his old 38 last night.

Here's my .38 Spl 649...

and nickel plated Model 17. I love the 649 for concealed carry.

I carried the blued 49 every day for 20 yrs as my backup, covert, and off duty. Bought the 649 in 1995 and have carried it since. I never leave home without them. Had a nickle Model 38 for a short while but one of the guys talked me out of it. I wasn't really wanting to sell it but he had the cash. They're great little guns.

I was lucky enough to inherit a blued Model 38 mfg. in 1973 that was my grandfathers. He loved the gun and I now know why. The bodyguard is an excellent design with a good feel to it. I really dont want to carry it for fear of damage so I am looking for a stainless version to carry.

Great! Just great!

I've been wanting a snubbie for the longest time, but I can't ever run across one without the lock above the latch. Just when I think the urge is gone, somebody just has to post pics.

Thanks, gentlemen.

PS-> Is it just me, or is there something about the snubnose revolver that speaks of more elegant times? It is truly a gentlemen's weapon.

Even if I didn't get the newer 649 Stainless, I'd be very happy just to HAVE a Bodyguard in almost ANY configuration.
Perhaps I can squirrel money away during the next few months and get lucky enough to find one...
Not having any one in particular in mind kind of takes the pressure off, don't you think? :D

"Carried a lot and seldom shot" --- isn't that the line here?
Wasn't it the Treasury Dept. that used +P+ in the Bodyguards?
How 'bout an Airweight loaded with the +P+ once in a while?

Questions, questions, questions!

While I like all the Bodygaurd pix, MJ3, yours is very nice.
Miami Vice also made the Bodygaurd very popular. Nice snubby, and I don't know why I do not have one. I have a 640PD, and a 442.

REAL GOOD, y'all!
Very nice looking little firearms.

NJ3, those are the Hogue Bantam grip(s) on there? Do they 'press' onto the frame without a mounting screw/strap?
THAT'S what I'm after here. I like the shine. Is it high polished stainless or what?

Tamara, I like your choices in that pic you posted, too. Nice.

Samuel2001, those are actually the 125 gr Federal Nyclads. I was lucky enough to find a stock of them for a reasonable price.

chameleon, thanks it's a keeper.

BusGunner007, yes they're the Hogue Bantam grips. They just slide on from the bottom of the grip and use no screws. It's a nickel M38-2, circa 1990. I didn't want it the first time I saw it, but the price was right. Now I won't give it up for nothing. :)
