S&W adjustable rear sight on BHP need leaf spring screw

Ok I have an older custom BHP with a S&W rear sight. The leaf spring came out last time I had it at the range. I do not know the exact vintage of the S&W sight but if I had to guess it is somewhere in the 80s. The sight has a rounded front and the white outlines on the rear so I thought it was the newer version. I know the older version with the tiny screw is not longer available but I don't think that is the right one anyway. So I ordered part number 224570000 but it is too big. It was labeled for the "newer" version of the S&W sight but its a no go.

So with a little more research I found this. SIGHT LEAF/TRIGGER STOP SCREW, REAR | Brownells 037350000 is the part number. I want to avoid having to buy it and send it back if it does not work. It is my understanding that the thread on the 037350000 is 3-56 and I am wondering is it smaller than the 224570000? I could not find the thread for the 224570000.

Pic of the gun.

Thanks in advance.

Nice looking pistol. I had an S&W rear sight installed on a Colt 1911 years ago. I think they're one of the best adjustable rears you can put on a pistol. As you no doubt know, this sight "conversion" was extremely popular back in the day. Glad you found the "fix".

Got the correct screw. It is the smaller older version of the S&W screw which is found on a 19-3. The newer larger one was introduced later around the 19-7.

I did have to file it because it was too long and the sight would not fit flush. Once I took a little bit off it leveled the sight perfectly. I put a little purple 222ms Loctite on it to hopefully keep it in place.

Here are a few more pics of the gun. It was build on a T series and had an unattractive beavertail on it. The sights were also on the slide before it when to APW Cogan for the custom work.

Bob took the old beavertail off and installed a new one. He stippled the front and back of the grip and then hardchromed the frame. The slide was reblued after he replaced the hammer & sear with C&S parts. The extractor was also tuned.
