S&W 9mm Series 5900 + Magazine (did not work)

Greetings to Every one:

Previously, I was advise to use an S&W series 5900 magazine as an alternate for a DP51.

Just yesterday, I bought a Mecgar 17 rds mag. The mag-well accepts the magazine but once you press the magazine ejector the mag will not fall. I was able to load 1 bullets but when i tried to squeeze the trigger it will not work at all. It is a big failure. I thought I can possess that hi cap mag. I returned it just today and exchange with metal piercing bullets.
 
I suspect that the magazine works fine but the S&W "magazine safety" is not disengaging. Yet another reason to remove that so-called safety (disabler, really).
 
It seems that's the reason (magazine safety). Other things I noticed is, the trigger will not travel flawlessy (back and forth).

What came into my mind is, it is because I put 17 rds mag and the pistol is originally design for the 13 rds mag. But again it is not the point because, my 1911 that is 7 feeds can accept extended mags like the 10 rd "Chip McCormick Shooting Star".

But anyway, I just did report what I had experienced of interchangeability that did not become operable.
