S&W 986 with Jerry Miculek checkered grips

Just in case you guys want to see what it looks like, here's a 986 with JM checkered grips. I really love the way they feel. They are just barely slimmer than the Hogue rubber grips, but they feel much better to me than the finger grooves and rubber (I am weird and don't care for rubber grips in general mostly because I am a super sweaty guy). I'll let you know how they shoot later on in this post when I get around to it.

Thanks for the compliments! I have put around 700-800 rounds through the gun (with the stock grips), and it shoots AWESOME. I shoot it better than I do my custom XD, which I've had more trigger time on than almost any other centerfire gun. The gun just begs for me to shoot it. I love it's double action.

I'll let you know how the new grips work out for shooting when I get around to shooting them.

Thanks! I appreciate the compliment. The gun feels very nice in hand now.

Nope! It's not; it's the same gun. I just slapped the grips I've wanted on the gun on it. If I have to send it back into S&W (I am going to see if my locktiting holds tension on the mainspring and rear sights), I'll put the factory grips back on. I guess I should re-vet the gun before I add anything else and possibly be forced to send it back in.
