S&W 686 Target Champion DL

Hi:

I've seen a nice, used example with 6" barrel which I am very tempted to buy.

I just wanted to check a few things with some of the S&W gurus on the forum. I have 3 specific queries but any info would be appreciated, no matter how minor.

Specifically, can anyone confirm:

- does the Target Champion model command a premium over the price of a standard 686?

- other than the grips, what difference is there between the standard 686 and the Target Champion (finish, sights, tuning, trigger pull...)?

- what is the difference between the regular Target Champion and the DL version?

Grateful for any information you can give me.

Thanks in advance.

Used....probably not.

Hammer and front sight(patridge instead of a red ramp) come to mind. I believe it also has a wide target trigger.

One has DL in the name?

Thanks for the info.

I am looking for a .38 / .357Mag for informal target shooting and range use. It will not be carried and is unlikely to be used for home defence.

Considering the information above and assuming used prices to be similar, is the Target Champion a better option for range use than a regular 686?

I should add that this would be my first revolver...
