S&W 686 snub

Congratulations....I like the S&W model 686's a lot ...( and the K and N frames too ...:D ).....but I think you have a great gun there.

I love my 686 but I never knew they made one with a 2 inch barrel.

You're not finding the frame a bit too beefy for concealed carry? The frame size and the sights being so angled would turn me off from wanting to carry it. But then I know guys who happily hump a full-sized 1911.

The 686 snubs are about as big a snub as one can pack CCW for most people.

Strong? Oh yea.

Notice my snubs below..

My 686 snub is at the bottom right with ebony Secret Service stocks.

Above it, past the S&W 60, is a Ruger GP-100 3 inch and above that a S&W 66 2 1/2 snub.

And then the Speed Six is on the bottom left and above that a Ruger Security Six and a 3 inch S&W 65 'Lady Smith'.

You can see the 686 is beafy but not as much as a GP-100 (but more than a Speed SIx or S&W 65/66.)

They are all good guns but the K frame .357s I limit in shooting magnums, and the Speed/Security Six I limit somewhat. The GP-100 and 686 are the strongest.

I believe wheelyfun's is a 2 1/2" bbl (I don't believe S&W makes a 2" 686 - but don't quote me on that). Here's mine - I went with a 3" - I wanted that extra 1/2" of velocity. . .

The holster is a Garrett Industries Silent Thunder IWB

It is smooth leather-lined interior and kydex exterior.
It is silent when drawing the weapon, because the leather is so smooth...

It is adjustable for cant angle, and is easy on/off the belt, due to the kydex clip.

This holster rides in my sweet spot, just behind the hip. Holds the weapon in close to the body.
Even while driving, it is comfortable.

Thanks. Alas, they don't have one for what I'm likely to want it for.

I do like those 686's. Strange thing is, I don't even have one...........yet. Granted I do have a couple no dash 36's snubbies.
