S&W 686 plus

Does anyone carry a 686 plus 3" 357 in magnum revolver? If so, why? I'm waiting for my Custom Made Holster so I can carry it here in Fl. Since it carries 7 shots, I'm very pleased with the weight, accuracy, and balance. Yes I can carry the G19 or G43. But I'm drawn to the 357 in magnum.
As always, all replies are welcome.

I don't own a 686, but I do have and carry a GP100 on occasions in a paddle holster. 6-7 rounds of a .357 magnum is nothing to sneeze at. I carry a speed strip as well for reloading too. It's heavy, plain and simple, but Its a beast in the best way. I never feel under-gunned when it's riding on my hip. Being stainless is also a plus here in FL. You can put a poly semi in my hand and I'll shrug and ask "what else is new", but a nice steel wheel gun really makes me smile.

I have a 4" 686 plus, it can be carried in a pancake holster but it weighs a lot, a lightweight Commander weighs less or a model 19. I actually carry a 642.

I carry a 3" 686 plus in a pancake holster that sits at around 4 o'clock. I don't notice the weight but I'm also 6'2
230lbs so I conceal larger firearms fairly well.

I have carried the 3" 686+ on occasion. It conceals easily in a pancake and I thought the weight was a non issue (you'll need a stiff belt though). I'm an average sized guy. Why did I carry it? Because it's an awesome gun and because I can. But most of the time I carry an auto.

I carry one at work on a regular basis. Three of us have found Matt Whitefield to make a beautiful pancake holster that is stiff as Kydex and it has a slight curled lip to make re-holstering a breeze. I have one for my Kimber K6s and one for my 3" 586+ & 686+ guns.

No, because I don't have a 686 plus....( L Frame )...

but I do carry an N frame, 627, in a 2 5/8" barrel ( .357 Mag, 8 shot ) once in a while in a Kramer, horsehide, IWB ...with a good stiff belt its not that big a deal...weight is no big deal ( but I'm 6'5" and 290lbs...) ...
