Hello I was wondering if anyone owns this revolver? When was it made? How much would 1 cost in 90-99 % ? Does anyone have any pics? I have done some reserach with no results. Thanks
Don't remember exactly but they were made around 1999 or 2000 as I recall. They were a 686-5 with the MIM parts but not the internal lock. Don't know what they go for. One turned up on Guns America a while back and was sold in 2 hrs so something tells me they go for a fair amount. Maybe someday Smith will make another run of them like their other Mountain Guns. They are a 7 shot revolver. If you can't find one you can make your own as the barrels are available from S&W. This would allow you to set barrel/cylinder gap and headspace to an optimum. The problem is the barrel is about $127 and installation would be $60-100.
I have one and they are the hardest of the Mountain Guns to find as they were made in the least numbers. I got my 99% example for $500, which I considered a bargain. As Mag said, one showed up on GA a while ago for $425 or $450 (IIRC) and was gone instantly. They are prized among MG collectors.
Expect to pay about $500-$600, if you can find one. Can't help with pictures. Good luck.
