S&W 686+ Barrel Change

I now have collected 3 686 revolvers ...the latest one is a M686-1 a really beautyful piece , it's a 2 1/2 barrel ...I also have a NIB 686+ also in 2 1/2 barrel this is the one I would like to change the barrel .
My other 686 is a 6 inch also older and shoots great !
I was wondering has anyone had S&W add a 3 inch barrel to there gun and what was the cost ?
I hear there are romours that smith is going to make a 3 inch 686 .

Your safest and best and probably cheapest thing to do is send it back to S & W! I believe they will do a fine job.

Thank you sir ..thats what I was asking if smith dose install 3 inch barrels and has anyone had this done .
