S&W 681 for concealed carry?

Just purchased a S&W PC 681 with 4-in bbl. Though I have other CCW revolvers, does anyone carry this (or its cousin, the 686) in an IWB for concealed carry? Any problems with this L-frame gun for CCW? I'd like the option of packing this larger revolver when situations permit. Any recommendations out there on IWB or OWB holsters? Thanks.

I love the L frame...I have a 686 Plus 4" and a 696 3". Like 'em both...have (but rarely do) carried both concealed with no difficulty in a strong side belt holster (Galco F.L.E.T.C.H.). Just me but I think I'd have a major dent in my a$$ after carrying either IWB all day.:D

It's a sexy (am I allowed to say that? ;) ) looking gun. A good pancake style holster is best. They are no more difficult to carry than a K frame i.e. M-65.
Holster: Aker, #137 Bodyguard.

I've never carried a revolver IWB, but like others have stated in a good OWB my 586 (the other cousin:D) makes an excellent CCW.

581, 681, 586, 686 all good defensive guns.

OWB belt holster on a GOOD belt is my prefered carry. Match clothing to weapons for complete package.

I guess if I decided to carry my Smith & Wesson 686 as a
CCW piece, I would need to buy a shoulder rig from Bianchi
or Safariland; cuz its a 6" model.

I have friends who carry N frames. Just make sure you buy a good holster and belt. I recommend Milt Sparks, others are good as well.

I used to pack a M686 in an IWB holster. It's a bit thick and heavy to carry that way. I would prefer the K frame. The K's smaller frame and cylinder seem to go along way for IWB carry.

Congratulations on a fine handgun.

I carry my 3" 681pc in a Kramer belt scabbard.

For me, the cylinder makes it a little too wide for iwb, but it might work for you.

How do you like the 4-incher? Which of the grips do you prefer?
