Hi Folks,
Ever since getting a 4 inch Sp101 in .327 mag and finding the cartridge was quite nice, I've been looking for a S&W in the same caliber. It's taken a while since all the models I'd found were either too well used (i.e. loose) or too expensive, but I finally found and acquired a 632-1 in excellent shape and at a good price (they needed cash fast so cut me a deal).
The problem is, I'm not sure what iteration 632 it is. It's 2009 manufacture per the box/spent case info, it has a 3 inch barrel and a small compensator in front of the front sight (1 oval-ish hole in the top) and the strange part, the finish is matte natural stainless (think like the newest lady smith or the 629/627 PC snub models, Smith just calls it "Matte")
It looks almost identical to the 632 Pro BUT it's not in matte black. I know there were some short runs of brushed stainless ("normal" stainless S&W finish) but this isn't brushed, it's almost like a very fine bead blast on both the frame and cylinder.
From what I can tell, it's factory stock and hasn't been refinished (the finish is really flawless and it's hard to get that post production).
Anyone have any ideas if it's just an early version or some sort of special run?
Thanks for any info!
