do you guys think this was a good buy at $400 it was second hand but the bore was in imaculate condition and there was not a sratch on it

have any of guys had experience with hand loads in this particular model

any good loads.

any info would be greatly appriciated.

You will find a model number where the crane latches into the frame. It will say something like 629-5. The -5 means it is the most recent iteration of the revolver. The earlier ones (-2, -3) supposedly were not as capable of handling hot loads as the newer ones.

Other than that, sounds like a good deal to me, and you will really enjoy it!

your not wrong, when the bloke from the gun shop pulled it out of the box i nearly fell of my feet i never thought you could get a revolver so big.

Just for fun of shooting: 240 grain cast bullet+7.5 grains of Unique+CCI 300 primer. You can shoot that combo all afternoon and not abuse your hand or your gun.
 
you really cant buy a more accurate revolver than an 8 inch barreled one.i had an 8 inch anaconda and man you just look down that long barell and line up the site and presto...bulls eye.
