S&W 627 (8-shot .357) question

The photo shows the front of the cylinder, not the back, where the cuts would be. I think they're showing the front to show it's unfired condition.
 
I've had one new in my hand while at my LGS - they're not cut for moon clips. They have chamfered charge holes, but not cut for clips.
 
Roughedge is correct that the V-comp (also called the V-8) is cut for moon clips. I have one. Great gun. Can't speak to the others in the 627 family.
 
I have an older 627 8-shot 5 in barrel Performance Center revolver cut for moonclips. Thought all were like that. Bob
 
Funny I was reading this thread thinking "wait for it, wait for it......"

I was expecting something along the lines of if your loading it that way your doing it wrong. :D
