S&W 625 mis stamp info

I was wondering i just bought a 625 for under 400.00 last week and one day i called S&W and they told me that the serial # says the gun is made in 97 but the 625-4 says it was made in 94 he told me it was a mis stamp.

A local S&W dealer said he would give me 550.00 but i thought if he offerd me this much could it be worth more or should i take it

Ps the serial # is CBZ9xxx 625-4

Hard to say whether it's worth more as a shooter or as a collector's item.

There are collectors who specialize in mis-marked S&W revolvers, but since it's such a limited market, you'd actually have to get in touch with them to find out if your revolver has any additional value.
