S&W 624 pair

Well I just bought my first ever 44 SPCL revolvers, both 624.
I got the serial numbers from the pawn shop a few days ago and contacted S&W to make sure they were not on the cylinder recall and they were not, so time to shop.

This pair was in the local pawn shop until today.
I’ve been eyeing them for a while but the hang tag price of $999.00 each was a little steep for my tastes and I figured they’d only come down a couple hundred.
So today I decided to make an offer on the pair for $1200.00. Well without haggling (I’m on the frequent buyer program there) they made the deal for both.

No original box or papers, but I did score a sealed bag tool kit in the deal.
DOB 3" 1986
DOB 4” 1987

They need a good cleaning and then out for a little range work.

Thanks for looking.

Nice pair. Generally I prefer the look and feel of 3" over 4" or longer but something about this 3" looks odd. I like the look of this 4" better. Swap the front sight and the grips and it would look even better. But minor quibbles. Congrats!

Nice find, I have 2 myself, a 6.5" and 4". I've been told they aren't rare but how often do you see a 624?

Wow you lucky . . .

Beautiful. Just beautiful. I didn't even read how much you paid for them - doesn't matter to me.

Nice find.

As I recall the 3 inch round butt was a Lew Horten run of 1000 or 2500.

Have seen folks ask 1000 -1200 just for that gun. Ask mind you but heck these days for older Smith revolvers a taker at that price would not suprise me one bit.

Well done indeed

Howdy

I picked this one up a few years ago. I like anything that is chambered for 44 Special. I took off the over sized grips and put on a pair of Magna grips as I prefer the smaller grips.
