S&W 617 hammer/trigger size differences

Anybody know why Smith puts a .500" target hammer and a .400" smooth target trigger on their 6 shot model 617 6inchers but on the 10 shot 6 inchers they put a .375" target hammer and a .312" smooth target trigger? I mean it's essentially the exact same gun except for ammo capacity. Why would they incorporate different trigger/hammer combos just because of ammo capacity difference? Thanks. Fleiger

Target triggers are usually on guns that will be used for target shooting (obviously) . I have never understood this practice with revolvers. A combat trigger is much better, both for slow fire and rapid fire.
