I'd like to hear from owners of the S&W 610 with the 4 inch barrel. How does it perform? How much of a pain in the ass are the full and half-moon clips?Sounds like a fun toy to own since I already own semis in 10mm and .40 S&w.Is it worth the money?

ortho,
If you want to shoot IDPA, then the 4" S&W 610 is the ticket for revolver class. You would use only full moon clips, and with a 125 power floor, your loads would be light and easy to shoot in 40. Is it worth the money? If you get one for $600 or less, out the door, then yes. Remember, it's still an N frame, so it's not as quick to handle as a K frame.

I've owned a metric buttload of S&W revos and, until I bought a 610, I thought the 4" 686 and the 6.5" 629 Classic were the absolute BEST Smith had to offer...then I bought a 4" 610!

I don't own a 686 any more and my 629 Classic is gathering dust.

4" M610 is sweet!
Accurate, easy on recoil and pleasure to clean.
Moon clips from Dillons work better than the S&W ones.
Srcrewdriver tool works fine.
Very happy with mine.
G29 likes it too.
