S&W 5904 slide finish wear

I recently bought a S&W 5904, which I think has a blued carbon steel slide and black alloy frame.

It has some minor wear on the slide, but nothing that I want to mess with at the moment.

However, I am curious as to what the slide looks like without the blueing. This might be a stupid question, but if it gets to the point where there is too much wear, can you remove the blueing of the slide and just leave it as a dual tone gun? Or will it look like crap?

Rather than remove the blueing and open the gun up to more corrosion and rusting, why not re-blue?

Just from what I read in the forums, it seems like reblueing is hard to do at home.

maybe i could look into duracoating it once i degrease and deblue it?
