S&W 59 Series

I was wondering what the differences in the S&W 5903-5904-and 5906 are? I am probably missing a few other 59's here as well. The other S&W thread caused my interest.

I came across an possible deal on a 5904 with 7mags. I have checked several sources and this used 04 is half of what I would half to pay for others used, mags not included.

I have the 04 here and am testing it. It belongs to a neighbor who sold most of his arms & accessories, and has this left. All 7 mags were used and I shot 15 thru each one with S&B 115 FMJ's plus some of my reloads. NO FTF or FTE.

I have a Kel-Tec and Marlin Camp Carbine that the mags fit and function in also.

The price is $250. I'm am sure that I will buy it. Is there any info you could pass on to me about this? Thanks --------Chainsaw

Alot of the S&W 9mm's on the market today are police trade-ins. I had a S&W model 5906 a few years ago and it was a good, solid pistol that never jammed but was kind of heavy to carry around so I traded it.
The model 5904 might have the alloy frame but I'm not sure of that. IMO, the 5900 series are good pistols and you can get used ones very reasonable. As a bonus the mags even fit in your camp carbine. Best, J. Parker

A few year's back, before I started carrying a Sig P220
I had a Smith & Wesson 459; which was an improved
version of the original model 59. You know, that darn
gun functioned flawlessly. I called it my Sunday gun,
cuz when kept clean it's bright nickel shined real
brightly.:D :)
