S&w 500

As the new owner of one of these monsters. I am curious.. can anyone recomend any gloves to help with the bruising recoil? I am pretty experienced with bigger handguns but this thing is a cannon. It actually left a bruise on the palm of my hand

I've only used these with heavy .357 loads or Scandium guns - S&W shooting glove . They come lefty too.

I understand that one of these "fighting chairs" used for tuna fishing can also be helpful in recoil control of the .500 S&W (with a good stout harness of course).

You can find shooting gloves in Cabella's cataloge. I forget the brand name.

Get an Uncle Mikes shooting glove. Has a gel insert. Can get it in fingerless. Does a great job. I shoot an 8" 500 on a regular basis.

For some neat accessories for the S&W 500, check out page 146 of the March/April issue of American Handgunner. If not for that stupid law about barrel length and buttstocks to go with our bayonet, flashlight, forward pistol grip and fire extinguisher it'd be the perfect carbine.
