My 4516-1 finally came yesterday and I went to the range today with a varity of ammo, mostly handloads. I had 200 gr lead semi-wadcutters with 4.8 gr of Red Dot, 200 gr WADCUTTERS w/ 4.8 gr of Superlite, 230 gr ball and 4.8 of Red Dot, all loaded in some beatup military brass, and some Winchester 230 gr SXT factory stuff. Guess what? It digested everything I put into it, even the wadcutters (they look like little oil cans in the mag) and on occasion shot one ragged hole at 7 yds offhand. Am I a happy camper or what? I had two Sig 220 autoloaders which would function with the wadcutters, and I had no hopes that this Smith would, but it did.
I appreciate those who gave me their personal experience with this piece, and especially those who offered extra mags, holsters and grips for sale at excellent prices. Thanks all, Stan in Southern New Mexico, USA.
