S&W 38sp Victory

The victory's were made from 1942 to 1945 and the serial number on the bottom of the grip should start with a V and than 5 or 6 numbers. Don't know about Navy Victories as the only Navy 1905 M&P's were made before WW1 and only 1000 of them were made. Charlie

According to SCSW, Victory models marked "U.S. NAVY" on the topstrap are worth a premium of 50% to 100% over the regular versions, and double to triple the value if marked "PROPERTY OF U.S. NAVY" below the cylinder latch. They also warn about forgeries.

Ya might wanna head over to the S&W forums, and do a search under their "Hand Ejector 1896-1961" forum for "Navy Victory".

If there is specific info, they'll have it.

Serial number? XX out the last couple digits. Lanyard loop? Grips, etc. Maybe a photo or two and someone here can probably give ya some more specifics. Otherwise, they're simply a .38 made for wartime use. But kinda collectible to some. Hence the fakes.
