S&W .38 and Colt Police Positive

I received 3 revolvers and one semi auto that were my grandfathers and I am trying to research the S&W and Colt for their approximate age and value.

The Colt 32. Cal Police Positive ctg has a serial # 119xxx and the Smith & Wesson Model 10-6 has a serial #C823xxx. The Smith and Wesson was his service revolver and not sure if the Colt was ever used as his service weapon.

Both are in great shape with minimal scratches and holster wear.

Appreciate any thoughts you might have.

Tom

Looks like 1914. Now to try and find some ammo.

He also has a 25 cal from Spain that like like a Colt pocket gun and another 32 cal from Spain.

The S&W M10-6 was made in 1966 or 1967.

Note that .32 Colt New Police is the same as .32 S&W Long, by 1914 they had given up on .32 Long Colt.

On the other hand, the Trocaola .32 might well be .32 Long Colt, .32 S&W Long, or .32-20. All are listed by Zhuk. The barrel markings are not helpful.

The Libia .25 looks like a straight copy of the Colt/FN. The slide has to be in JUST the right position to turn the barrel back into the operating position, which it is not now.

Thanks, it was similar to another I looked at but it was better and I think I had the guide rod reversed and now back together.

Much appreciated!

I picked up one of those little Colts a couple of years ago and just recently shot it for the first time.

Mine is market .32 Police, which is the same as the .32 S&W Long.
