S&W 36-1 extractor

I just purchased a used, nickel .38, exc condition, but the front of the extractor wiggles side to side much more than any other of my handguns, and therefore the crane to receiver gap opens a couple of thousandths - unsightly. Know the timing/lockup is good and safe, but still wish to correct this condition. Is a longer locking bolt available to set deeper into the front of the extractor? (If that's the problem). And what kind of tiny punch is used to knock out that locking bolt pin? Assume replacement parts are readily available from S&W. Thanks.

Nitesite, the gap you describe indicates a bent crane rather than an extractor problem. Slinging the cylinder shut is usually the cause. The easiest fix is to just replace the crane. George
