Ran across one of these today with a 2.5 inch barrel... Pretty much fell in love... Lightweight model, cut for moon clips, 8 rounds of .357 mag.. What's not to love... I know the shop owner personally so he stuck it away for me to mow it over for a day..
Anyhow, who has one? And what do you think about it? Its use for myself would be a primary ccw

On order

I have a 627 on order. 8 shot with a 5 inch barrel. The dealer said not to hold my breath. S&W revolvers are way back ordered. All good things come to those who wait.

a pic of the particular specimen I'm looking at

I've never seen one in person, but wouldn't an 8-shot cylinder be pretty thick for a CCW?
Stick a 4-6" barrel on it (edit: apparently that's a 627) and it might be the ultimate HD revolver, but I generally find the width of a gun has more to do with how easily concealed a gun is than it's length (within reason).

If it does work for you, it's definitely an awesome piece of machinery.

What's the price on it?

Eight shots of .357 and it is an S&W and performance center to boot...if I had the money and like the looks I think I would go for it.

I do not particularly like the looks of it but that is a totally biased personal opinion and should not sway you one way or the other.

How do you like shooting it? Have you tried it with .357 158 grain and 125 grain and with .38 specials?

Even if the price is high you can play my little mind game and figure the gun will last, well practically forever, as far as your concerned so the price per year will be practically nothing.

thick it is...here's a 627-3 V-Comp with the same sized cylinder next to a fat G30 SF (which many consider too thick to carry)

I have one of the 8 shot 627 UDM revolvers (all steel) and its a hoot to shoot and not too bad to carry, it is a little thick around the cylinder but if the price is right I would go for it. It is nice to have 8 shots on tap, as far as the grips go, it looks like a set of Ahrends. I love them and have them on 4 of my other revolvers, the fit my hand perfectly and give me a good grasp when I go for my gun. If you get then gun at a good price and dont like it I'm sure you would not have a problem selling it later.

I do not own one ....and I haven't fired one.../ but I do own a variety of S&W revolvers in K, L and N frames in .357 mag...in 2 1/2", 4" and 6" barrels.../ all steel guns ....that I like .../ shoot all the time...and carry sometimes.

This is the spec on the one you're looking at...

-------------
The one you're looking at is an N frame / which I like ....2" barrel ...at 21 oz..../ and compared to a model 686 in a 2 1/2" - the 686 is a 7 shot / steel gun at 34 oz..../ so the 327 model is very light. I think its too light to shoot accurately / even though the larger frame means it would fit me better...21 oz just isn't what I'd prefer.

The 327 has a scandium alloy frame ( light / and easily scratches )...and it has a 8 shot Titanium Alloy cyclinder...so its an alloy cylinder with a Titanium sleeve on it basically.../ I'm not that big a fan of alloy frames over steel.....and I don't know if the alloy cyclinder with the Titanium sleeve is really something I'd like long term or not...
----------
I'm more hung up on the weight and barrel length than anything ....but I like the fact that its an N frame. But if I were able to shoot the model 327 2" and the model 686 2 1/2" side by side....I think I would take the model 686.

or I would go with the K frame model 66's in a 2 1/2"...and I don't have a weight on my 66's in 2 1/2" but it has to be around 30 oz.
----------
In terms of a carry gun ....the 66 in a 2 1/2" is easy to carry for me in an inside waist bad, Kramer leather rig..../ and I have model 66's and 19's in 4" as well...and I use the same holster for them ( they're all K frames )....so any one of them are easy to carry with a good belt.

327 ( N frame ) will be a little wider....but probably not enough to matter - and at only 21 oz...its certainly light...but is it too light to shoot Tactically Effectively beyond 18 Ft...in rapid fire ?? Real light guns - get away from me in rapid fire.../ but the N frame would make it easier to hang on to than a light weight J,K or L frame too ......
----------
Since its probably selling in the $ 1,200 - $ 1,250 price range.../ its an N frame / and a performance center gun .....I can see why you're tempted to buy it and try it....( its not like its a $3,000 test gun ...)..../ but I think its a toss up on whether you'll really like it or not .../ but it might be fun to shoot once in a while...

I have 2 327's and they are 2 of my favorite revolvers! I have the 327PC as pictured above and a 327NG which I carry quite a bit. The nightguard version has a slightly longer barrel and a front nightsight. I shoot the heck out of them and they really are great revolvers! I might pick up a 627 soon to keep them company, LOL

ps, a company called "Fivestar" makes really good speedloaders for the 327/627 line. I have them and they are well built and work good!

I suspect the 327 will be to the 627 as the 329 is to the 629. Only the 329 has a 4" barrel and not a 2.5 inch barrel. I do not like shooting magnums in the 329 and can pretty well predict I would not like shooting magnums (+P might also apply here) in a 327. The N Frame is a bit big for CCW use and will be a bit of a recoil boomer. Bottom line is if you got money to burn why not ? Otherwise I would personally look for something else.

I have a 627 4 in cut for moon clips. I have no problems carrying it concealed. I do owb but I know guys that do iwb with an N frame as well.

I have one with the 5” barrel. As a steel gun, it’s about perfect and I’ve done well with it.
I shoot .38 Short Colt handloads in mine.
Never fired it single action or with magnum ammo.
It’s too big for CC for me. Seems like a short barrel would make it harder to conceal, because it would be so top-heavy. YMMV.
