I just inherited a S&W 32 long cal nickle plated, pearl grips. No mod. number to be found anywhere. Serial number 96271 and then a star.

can anyone tell me how to track this revolver as to age and value?

thanks,

A pic would be nice... the star means it was sent back to S&W quite a while ago for repair... could have been for anything including refinish...

so is it a top break, does it have an exposed hammer, does it have a grip safety ???

I THINK you have a .32 Hand Ejector, model of 1903, 4th change, made in 1910. There is no model number on it because S&W did not use numbers until 1957, a long time after this one was made.

Resale value depends on condition, in the few hundreds if in excellent condition with FACTORY pearls.
