Got a 2" version today, and love it!! I just couldn't resist. I have been lookin at these for some time now. 250 rounds later, reasonably accurate, as it gets hot and dirty it tends to get kinda rough in the action, also with hotter rounds ejection has to be alittle more purposeful. There is a joke around my house...now you have a gun to go with all those grips. Kinda true, the J frames are my favorite. This thing needs a .22wmr buddy!!!

I've had a 317 2" for about a year now. It's been a great little gun. I also agree that a .22WMR version is in order. You might be able to keep the aluminium frame, though it would probably need a stainless steel cylinder to maintain the 8 round capacity. A full stainless barrel might also be in order. My wife has a 637 with exactly those features, except it's a 5 shot .38. It still weighs only 20 ounces.

I have a Lady Smith version. Real sweet gun. Extraction gets sticky after a few bricks. I usually soak the cylinder for a few days in Hoppes and reassemble without cleaning the rest of the gun.

I have had mine for about 3 yrs. It would be the last gun I would ever sell off. Its a do everything, walk-the-dog, plinking and defensive use handgun. I clocked Stingers at 1100 fps, Remington HVRN@900 and Rem. HVHP@960.

I detail stripped it and couldn't reassamble it:eek: , so when it arrived from the factory, the trigger pull was much better. I probably have 1000-1500 rds fired.

My 317 is the 3" Kit Gun with the "light gathering" HIVIS green dot front sight. Very satisfying. I like it so much that my next gun may be a 337 Kit Gun - same as the 317, except .38 caliber.
