I am new to the hole revolver thing but would like to get in to it. I saw a man on tv the other day shooting a S&W with a 3 in barrel in 45 ACP. It seemed like a very cool gun. I have a sig p220 and have all ways liked the 45 acp. Any info will help. Thanks.

325PD, probably. My dealer had two for sale yesterday. $650 each. Like the 1917 and the 25/625, they use clips to support the cartridges in the cylinder. I like them very well, myself. I just can't swing the $650 right now.

Might have been a 325PD (2.75" barrel).

The 625 was also offered a few years ago witha 3" barrel.

Was there not a later 625 3" bbl. offered beside the original? Seems to me Lew Horton (or someone) had a bunch of N frame full underlugged barrel guns made up in .45 Colt, .44 Mag and .45 ACP. Never saw the ACP one but still kick myself for not getting the one in Colt. Seems to me they came out around 2000 or 2001.

jphelps4,

"Cool" does not adequately describe the snubby Smith scandium 325 45 acp revolver. Among many guns, my 325 is one of my favorites. You ought to give one a try.

Lew Horton did have a model of the 625 made up for them, but even the original had the full underlug.
