S&W 29 (or 629 Classic) long term durability?

I have the chance to buy a blued S&W 29 in 6" or 8 3/8" barrel lengths, a stainless S&W 629 Classic in the same lengths, or a 7.5" SS Ruger Redhawk. I live in Paraguay, south america, and this is an old (pre S&W agreement) stock of guns (we can't import from USA anymore thanks to Klinton admin.), so I'm not concerned with buying S&W in this opportunity. I like the smith's action, but also the ruger's ruggedness, and I'm a little concerned about long term durability of the smith's. They had some small design changes to address this a few years ago, but I don't know if they include all the 29 and 629's or just the 629 Classice series.

Without question, the most durable is the Redhawk (own four, in all four calibers).

Either way, if you shoot enough full house magnum loads to wear out either gun, arthritis will have "warn out" your hand.

As long as you do not feed the Smith over hot loads as Fred said you will wear out long before the gun does. Given that you will no longer be able to get them I would recommend one of the 6" variations. They are more versatile and you gain little advantage with the longer barrel.

Thanks for the replies. I surely will be able to get them in the future, just not at the same price (we can not import "directly" from the USA). I'm used to powerfull guns with lots of recoil and I shoot quite often, so probably I'll shoot this one a good deal.
