though my 28-2 has a very smooth da trigger, the pull weight is 11 lbs. please advise pros and cons about having a gunsmith lessen the pull. thank you

Are you sure that it hasn't already had some work? You did say it was smooth, and that's a pretty good pull weight for a stock gun.

You can usually very easily lessen the trigger pull simply by dropping in a Wolfe Spring Kit.
If you only replace one spring, replace the rebound slide spring. Usual rate for factory springs is around 17 to 19 pounds. That gives very consistent and fast trigger return, but it lends to a pretty heavy trigger pull.
A Wolfe spring pack, including a reduced power main spring, includes 13, 14, and 15 pound rate rebound slide springs.
On some guns you can get into a trigger return problem with a rebound slide spring that is too low, but an action job will usually cure that problem.
