S&w 27-2

I just picked up a mint 4" nickle plated S&W 27-2 P/R. It shoots like a dream, and has the sweetest trigger I have ever seen on a revolver this side of a Python. I paid 339.00 for it, I tried to resist but couldn't! Can someone help me out on the year it was made? S/N N760XXX

Thanks!

I have another 27-2 with a 6" barrel that is blued, but I had never even seen a 4" nickled 27 before. I couldn't pass it up, there is just something about old N-frames I like. I can't wait to shoot it again.

Chuck,

The 27-2 was made from 1961 to 1982.

I'm not sure, but that may be the single longest production run for any of S&W's revolver engineering changes.

Agreed Mike. Smith seemed to have it there way during the dash 2 era. Should have quit while they were ahead.
