I own a S&W .12GA pump, great shape cept for some surface rust. is this even :cool: safe shooting, heard about the 916, some seem to say its bad, how bad they dont really get into, is this shotgun worth anything? maybe better just keeping it, i dont really have any use for it anymore. if anyone needs to know more about it, before they answer, please ask.
i bought it back in the 70's from the store jeffersons, over the counter for about $100usd back then.

:cool::rolleyes:

Unless it's broken it's safe to shoot.

The problem with the S&W Model 916 was that they were not a very good design, and whoever actually built them did a lousy job.
The guns were known for breaking, and when repaired, something else would break.
Not all of them were bad, but enough were that S&W's reputation took a big hit.

Value for a rusty one is about $100.
