I picked up a used 686 6" today. Next to it was a 686 warmed over by Magna Port. What I found odd was MP stamped 1 thru 6 on the chambers next to the extractor fingers. Wassup wit dat?

Some people feel that different cylinders shoot differently. It is thought that one cylinder may be the most accurate in a particular revolver. For this reason, they number them.

its just a custom touch when mag-na-port works over a gun. most production wheelguns will have at least one chamber that may not line up perfectly with the barrel when in battery. it could be the chamber being bore offcenter or worn hand and ejector star.

if your gun shoots five rounds in a cluster and one off to the side...the gun not the operator :D ...one chamber might be out-of-time. with the numbered chambers it is easier to determine which one it is :)
