S&W 1076 - Opinions?

1. How accurate?
2. How reliable?
3. Is this gun DAO?
4. What kind of velocities from the 4 1/4 inch barrel will original "hot" loads give?
5. Can it stand up to hot loads?
6. Silly question - are the used ones floating around ex-FBI guns?

Thanks guys, TFL Rules!

1. very accurate...at least mine is.
2. hasn't had a stoppage in over 5000 rounds.
3. no. this gun has a frame mounted decocker similar to the SIG/SAUER P22X series handguns. the 1076's hammer can be cocked to a SA firing position. if u r looking for a S&W 10mm DAO handgun, look at the 1086 or the very rare 1046.
4. hmmm...i don't chronograph so i won't speculate too much. expect to loose about 25-40fps...not too much.
5. mine has, but remember to change the recoil spring as often as 2000 rounds. just to be on the sae side. the 1076 is a beefy 4 1/4 handgun, but the shorter slide creates a handgun with less mass which will increase slide velocities.
6. some r and some r not. the ex-FBI guns will have a warning that the magazine safety has been deactivated. and i think the FBI guns have a special serial number too. the factory 1076s have magazine safeties.

hope this helps!
