anyone know anything about this shotgun?
I am looking for a very cheap shotgun i can pay with..
basic gunsmith type stuff...

I found this for 140 bucks. I figure if i break it ... it will be fine..
or does anyone have a better suggestion..
i looked at remington 1000 1100's but they are a little high for what i want to pay...

any ideas would be great..

Franchi's Al48 is a VERY good shotgun, a classic in fact.

$140 is a screaming deal.

Many of these are beloved by grouse hunters. Since they weigh about 5.5 lbs in 20 gauge they carry well.

And they kick well also, a fact of life with ultra light shotguns.

The action type is a variant of the Long Recoil style as used in Browning's A5 and similar. Tight tolerances and small, complicated parts means this may not be the best gun for a tyro smith to practice on.

As for breaking it, good luck. It should hold up longer than we will.

HTH......
