S&B Buckshot and slugs

I've never tried S&B slugs. The 00 buck is clean and consistent, but I haven't chronoed any so I don't know about velocity. I have only patterned it from my 20" Mossberg 500. I have this gun for social purposes and for an occasional IPSC 3-gun match. At 10 yds, it does a 12" pattern like clockwork to point of aim with a cylinder bore. This is perfectly adequate to my needs.
I've been happy with all other S&B ammo (rifle and pistol) I've tried.

I use the 3" magnum 00 buck

In a 20" Mossberg "Special Purpose", with folding stock and pistol grip, cylinder bore...At 30-40 feet the spread is about 24" which is exactly what I want to see for HD use (since they don't use a shot cup, I think they spread more than normal). HOWEVER, if you use the folding stock, it definitely kills at both ends. Have shredded a refrigerator, and 2 washing machines, as well as a couple dead trees...lets just say they were impressively demolished. Some have said they are dirty, but I haven't noticed any problems.

Haven't shot the slugs, but I've shot a fair bit of the 00 buck. It functions and patterns fine in my 870 and 1100. The only thing- the 2 3/4 00 rounds are longer than 2 3/4"by about 1/8" or so, so you may get one less round in the tube than you're used to. LaL, motorep.
