Russian Tiger Dragunov PSO-1 Battery

I am buying a 1993 production Russian Tiger Dragunov with PSO1 scope. Previous owner doesn't have battery information for the scope, so it doesn't come with one. I checked on kalashnikov.guns.ru, but no definite answers there yet. Any ideas what domestic batteries will work or where to purchase original batteries?

Thanks!

Here is what I have done for mine.....

The Russian battery is 3.2V and an oddball size, so you won't be able to find an exact replacement for it...so here is one solution...without doing any permanent alterations to the scope...
Go to your local drug stors and get a Kodak K58L (3V lithium). This battery is smaller than the russian but all you need to do is to wrap some foam rubber around it so it fits snugly in the battery compartment, add a couple of metal hex nuts so the battery will make contact and it will work just fine.
There are AA adapters available as well as diodes to replace the bulbs with. You should get some pretty good answers on all of that from the people on the SVD board.

Here is a link to the manual for the Drag....along with instructions on sighting the scope.....
http://kalashnikov.guns.ru/manual/english/svd/.
Enjoy..and make sure you clean it properly following all shooting sessions....and if you use ANY russian ammo..assume it is corrosive, no matter what the manufacturer tells you!
