Run on .40 ammo, or just me?

Maybe this doesn't belong here, but I thought I would ask the rest of you pistol users, have you had a problem finding plinking ammo for your 40's lately? 9mm seems abundant, but when I went to get some plinking ammo at wally world, and kmart, none was to be had. I eventually found some at a second wally world, but they only had 5 boxes, so I bought them all. Is it just me, or is it still not popular, or is it too popular?

Can't speak to your recent experience, but a couple of months ago a local gun shop had a store wide sale, including ammo. There was plenty of 9 mm on the shelf, but the owner said he couldn't keep .40 around as it sold as fast as he put it out. I got a rain check, and when I redeemed it he allowed me to purchase a few more boxes than I had originally wanted. Even then, the .40 stack was half the size of the 9 mm.

From what I have heard, everyone wants to shoot what the cops shoot so cheap .40S&W sells as fast as it is stocked. It's not a bad idea to fill an ammo can or two when you can!

I have both bought WallyWorld out of 9mm in the brand I wanted and seen it sold out too. Why does the .40 disapear? When you see it you buy it all (or the previous guy did)!
