Rules on shipping ammunition?

I used to own a VZ18 in 7.92x23. I no longer have the gun but still have four 12-round magazines and about 300 rounds for it. I have an acquaintance in AL who has a nearly identical gun. I'd like to send him the ammo and the mags...what's the least expensive way to do so?

When I mail order ammo, it comes to me via UPS with a Black/Yellow sticker that says "ORM-D, CARTRIDGES, SMALL ARMS"
