Will the new vaquero's and blackhawks safely shoot hot .44 mag loads. I have heard that even though the rounds are within the limits of the reloading guide that you shouldn't shoot hot loads in the newer models.

Ruger's are some of the strongest and best priced revolvers around. There is no need to worry about any .44 load in those guns. They are tanks.

The reason i asked was because i had read in an article in one of the gun mags sometime back when the new vaqueros came out. The article said dont shoot any hot loads that were meant for an old blackhawk. Was just curious.

Blackhawks are still fine for hot loads.

The new model Vaquero now has a smaller (weaker) more traditional frame than the old super blackhawk size frame. They did this to make the guns more authentic to the era of the old west for the cowboy action competition. I beleive that the new Vaqueros are not chambered in .44 mag. If you have a vaquero in .44 mag, then you have an old model and are ok.

The Blackhawks and Super Blackhawks are unchanged and are still tough as nails.
