Ruger with a 25 pound trigger

I said several days ago that I had made a mistake buying the SP-101 [357 in a 2 1/4 inch barrel. Now the thing is "locked up" and I have a 25 pound trigger pull. Can anybody tell me how to fix it?

Yes, send it back to Ruger. They will fix it for you quickly. Contact them and set it up. Ruger has an excellent reputation, and usually goes out of their way to help.:)

25 pound trigger pull? Sounds like it is a SW Sigma to me.:p

Ruger's cust. service is terrific IMO, send it back. Good Luck!

Wow, I hope this doesn't color your thoughts on the ruger wheelguns!

My sp101 was perfect out of the box, maybe a 10-12lb DA pull and a 4-5lb SA pull. Just my guesses based on knowing my Glock is a 3.5lb pull.

I bet when you get it back from them, it will be a great little gun. I'm sorry you consider it a mistake right now, though. Sounds like it has a burr in its clockwork somewhere.

Hold the revolver up to the light and see if there's still a gap between the cylinder front and the rear of the barrel (forcing cone). Check the forcing cone for lead or copper fouling and clean if necessary. Also check the forcing cone for cracks. Check out the extractor star at the rear of the cylinder for debris. Clean under and on top the star with solvent and a toothbrush if found.

If scrubbing doesn't cure the problem, the Ruger service folks will make it right.
