Wow!
What a coincidence! I just bought the same gun (original big Vaquero size) at my local gun store last Thursday!
Brand new in the box and wrapper for
$400. I put $50 down on it and I have 90 days to pay up.
When I first picked up the gun I thought it was
used because it has a scuff on the right side of the barrel. The owner said that's how it came to him in the box. He thought it must not have been packed correctly and was rubbing on something inside the box or the box itself. The gun would not sell because of this scuff. It was originally marked $450 but he offered it to me for $400 so I jumped on it (I've always wanted my own polished 45 colt single action!).
Question: If the gun truly was delivered NIB with the scuff. Do you think Ruger is liable to fix it?
Would that be covered? And if so, why wouldn't the dealer have returned it to Ruger to get a good one himself?
The scuff does not bother me that much that I'd pass up on the Ruger. But hey, I'm buying a
new gun and it should be in
new condition.
Also, can I get a polished 45 auto wheel for it and plop it in? Or would I have to send the gun somewhere to be fitted?
Sorry! Don't mean to hijack the thread! These questions have just been on my mind... apologies!
