Ruger Vaqero

Can anyone tell me what the .45 long colt vaqero's are sighted in with at the factory. I have one in 3.5 in barrel stainless. I think is should group better.

Where in Montana are you? Which Vaquero do you have? I have several, I
have a Birdhead Vaquero that I am shooting nice groups out of with 300
grain hard cast bullets and 25 grains of H110.

I have a 5 inch myself

And altho it functions without error I think it was sighted at the factory about 4 inches to the right.
I had a good friend of my (a good gun smith) bend the front sight. Took 2 tries to get it right and then it hit 2 inches low at 15 yards. I diddnt mess with that.
I have heard from other people that have owned Vaquro say the same thing.
I dont think that Ruger is doing enough to get everything aligned.
The other thing that I diddnt like about them was the grips. The fit was VERY poor.
Even if it was only a 450 dollar gun I expect better than this.
Ruger builds very strong and good functioning guns, they just need to work on there fit and finish a little more.
