Ruger trigger comparisons 22lr

It seems most people like the Ruger LCR trigger. I've read quite a bit here and did a bit of research in the archives. Most of the discussion isn't about the rimfires.
For those of you that have fired/own the SP101 22lr and the LCR 22lr what are your thoughts between the two? Put aside the ability to conceal, and yes ones polymer. No self defense concerns here, unless the tin cans start to fight back :)
I'm hoping to get some points of view I hadn't thought of about these two choices. Thanks

From what i've felt the .22 LCR doesnt benefit from the triggers changes like the CF version does. It is much heavier to set off those .22 rims. Both are a bit rough and could enjoy a visit to the smith for trigger work. One didnt really jump out as superior to the other.

This is really a tough comparison because, at least from where I'm sitting, it would be silly to choose the LCR over the SP-101 if the pure intended purpose is for plinking, fun, rolling cans and etc.

The LCR's advantages are few, but all of these advantages are (mostly) lost if the single goal is fun plinking on targets like cans and fruit.

The LCR is less money, lighter/smaller/easier to carry... things you might want if your role is for some manner of defense or extremely lightweight packability for outdoor use as a tool. Or perhaps as a low cost ammo alternative for training, to replicate .38/.357 fire from it's big brother.

Without needing or wanting those few advantages, the SP-101 kicks the crap out of the LCR for things like enjoyable target shooting, plinking, and perforating fruit or blasting rocks. It offers:
--longer barrel (more velocity, longer sighting plane)
--better grip, more grip options
--FAR better sights
--better weight, weight distribution
--far easier to shoot and to shoot well
--ability to shoot single action if/when desired
All things that would pay off nicely if the only intended role is fun target shooting.

Personally, I don't think this is a race at all. It's won by the SP-101 before it starts.

I have both SP101 and LCR stock .22's. As far as just the trigger, I like the LCR better, It seems lighter and smoother. The grip makes a big difference on the LCR for me, It's just right. I think how the gun fits your hand has a big affect on trigger feel. The stock SP101 grip is very small for me which makes the DA trigger pull difficult. The SP101 frame width behind the trigger is wider than any revolver I own, this causes my finger to hit the frame before I get it to fire. A bigger grip may help by moving my hand back a little so I would use less finger on the trigger.

I've owned both sp101s and LCRs in 357, but not 22. Sp101s are not know for having great triggers. And generally, rimfire guns have worse triggers than centerfire. As for the LCR 22s, there is a large amount of variability from gun to gun. LCRs (the 38/357s) are known for having spectacular (DA only) triggers. The 22 LCRs are hit and miss and generally quite a bit heavier pull. Good luck.
