Ruger Super Redhawk, which scope to buy?

Hey guys.

Ok my family owns a Ruger Super Redhawk .44 mag and Ive been thinking about buying a scope for it. My budget is $80-$100. The gun came with scope mounts, so all I need is a scope. Ive been looking at the Simmons Prohunter handgun scopes. Ive also heard of Leupold handgun scopes. The gun is only being used for target shooting atm, it might be used for actual hunting at some point. For those not familiar with the gun heres a link that shows one with a scope mounted. Any comments/suggestions welcome.

Also I was wondering if there are any FAQs about scopes in general that explain such things as "Exit Pupil". I have shot rifles with scopes before, but I have never purchased a scope so I don’t know lingo.

I put a nikon 2x eer on my super blackhawk( $159.00 at sportsmans warehouse) and my groups at 75 yards are smaller now than they were at 25 yards with open sight. Mine is a 44 mag and I would not be comfortabe with a scope under $100.00. I've been down that road before and ended up buying the more expensive scope later on and ended up spending more $$$. I would try to step up the budget. In the long run you'll be happy you did. :)

Thanks for the great replies guys. Im still pondering which scope to buy. Ive found some more good FAQs, here and here.

EDIT: Ok now im understanding things. Ive decided not to go with the cheaper Simmons Prohunter because the Eye Relief is only 17"; meaning I would have to hold a .44 mag within 17" of my face to get a good view through the scope. Not something Im looking forward to :D The Nikon Monarch has an Eye Relief of 26.5", which seems just about right. Glad I did my research.
