Ruger Super Redhawk 9.5" CCW?

So I was looking at my Bersa UC 45 and my 1911 type pistols and thought to myself that they might be a bit under powered...

So I went for the next most powerful handgun I own. A Ruger Super Redhawk 9.5" barrel in .44 Rem Mag.

So the question is then how do I go about concealed carrying this thing?

This jacket would work:

There is no picture there, but I have it and it looks like a standard work jacket. Pretty much like this but darker:

The entire front quarter on each side is one massive pocket with an elastic band for holding your firearm. Each pocket is closed by velcro and the opening is huge, making it easy to get even a Super Blackhawk (I have one in 4 5/8") in and out. It even conceals my SBH quite easily. I am sure a 9.5" would fit and be concealed as well.

A CC messenger bag would also work but it would probably require the gun to be carried upside down so you could grip it properly before drawing. You could then kind of flip it forward as you draw it out... Hard to explain but would be obvious if you had one.

Don't know maybe a wheelbarrow?:D You might want to find a good .44 mag. with a 4 inch barrel for EDC use. I pack a S&W 25 with a 4"on the occasion without any real trouble.

sgms, I assumed the OP is semi-joking, but there are some valid answers without buying another firearm so I offered them up anyway. :)

Yeah I was semi-joking. I see and hear too much crap about "Oh that caliber isn't powerful enough to be a defensive gun" or "Oh you should have gotten this!" etc. Then my friend and I started talking about another friend that carries a Ruger Redhawk in .357 with a 6.5" barrel when hunting and he'd sometimes just tuck the thing into his belt and walk around the woods like that with his jacket closed over it like he was trying to conceal it.

Anyway I honestly wouldn't know how I'd react if someone pulled a gun like that or like mine out of their jacket... laugh or pee my pants... or both!

Shoulder holster, I met a guy at a gun store once, had a S&W 44 magnum in 8 inch barrel in one. LOL the guys joked about if he had to draw it, good luck getting it out.

In my youth I carried a 8.375 M29 in a shoulder rig under a light Levi jacket. Being 6'2" and 225lbs it concealed OK. In my senior years, now 6'0" and 265 I'm more inclined to carry a 25acp in my front pocket:rolleyes:
