Well guys and girls, I finally found one of these great revolvers and have placed the order. Should have my new wheel gun in my possession before the end of next week. I would like to know if any of you have any brands of commercial ammo that you prefer. I am aware that .44 mag ammo will cost a small fortune but until I get a reloading bench setup and running I must deal with it. I am also aware of the fact that all firearms shoot different ammo differently and as such will be doing some range testing. Looking forward to adding 1 more revolver to the safe and will post pics as soon as I receive. Thanks for reading and any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Hornady 240 grain XTP is hard to beat.

It has been my experience that if you have a gun that won't shoot XTPs accurately, you made to get rid of it!

Thanks guys for your suggestions. Well my newest addition will be in tomorrow and i am already getting excited. I have only been able to locate a couple boxes of commercial ammo and have picked them up. The 1st is a box of speer .240grain gold dot hunting rounds in .44 mag. The other is Remington 246 grain .44 special lrn for some range time. I will keep looking and will post a range report when finished.

When you start reloading, look at the Hornady 265gr FP...

It is designed for the .444 Marlin, so expansion is minimal, but if you might encounter critters larger than deer while hunting, it is a sturdy bullet that can be easily pushed past 1300fps from a 7-1/2" SBH barrel...
