Ruger Super Blackhawk .454 Casull and .480 Ruger

Has anybody heard of plans for this? What are the chances? It would sell well because it would beat the competition by hundreds or even thousands in $ in savings. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

I would if I did any of the following:

1. Reload
2. Hunt
3. Big Gun Fetish

I guess 1 out of 3 don't qualify :D

However, I have shot both in the 7" or so inch and 9" barrel. Both pretty powerful, I'd stick with the Casull since you can shoot the much milder .45LC with it...

Except for the fact that it would be SA vs the SRH DA I really don't see what Ruger would be gaining by coming out with Super Blackhawk models in those calibers. There is not that much demand as it is for those hand cannons (I have the SRH .454) and since I don't reload and the scarcity of .480 ammo I would not even consider the .480 in any model.

I doubt they could produce anything that would compete in the price range of the Taurus, and if it did it would hurt the SRH sales.

I'm sure it would be well recieved, but I really like having a swing-out cylinder and spray-n-pray ability (hey, its sometimes fun to blast them, just because...)

I would have one in about 4 weeks if offered today in a 5.5 inch barrel.

Super redhawk is big, I have yet to like a taurus I have held, and have never seen a *&* in 454.

A super black hawk is sort of small for 454, but the after market makes a 5 shot 454 I think on the super blackhawk. I plan to send my 5.5 inch super black hawk out once I get around to getting the shorter barrel super black hawk in 44 mag.

I like bigger bangs. The v8s in my cars and trucks are never left stock, I like more power. Even if rarely able to experience a full throttle blast, they are awesome at the drag strip.

A 454 black hawk would be the same. Not something to shoot a lot, but something that packs a lot more bang than normal.

I think tamara had something about torque and gunpowder for a phrase for a while.

Both are good, more is better.
